Being in the midst of increased pollen and the COVID-19 virus happening all around us, I wanted to share a couple of things about what it means to DETOX. To put it simply, detox is to remove anything harmful or foreign that is causing an imbalance within the body. I have recently been seeing the word “detox” everywhere. I see it on magazines, menus at restaurants, spa service menus, juicing bars, gyms, etc. With so much information at our fingertips, it can be overwhelming to weed out things that are most helpful and applicable. The first thing I would like to share is….take a deep breath and RELAX, WE are all detoxifying machines. That means that your body is already detoxing everyday! Your body is already cleaning itself and eliminating toxic waste. Your immune system is already looking for infections and viruses that are brooding within the cells and tissues and trying to build up a resistance against them. So what can we do to assist our bodies? Well there are a couple of things that we can do that are fairly easy.
Eating whole foods, exercise, taking epsom salt baths, and coffee enemas are all ways to help the body detox. Detox is so much more than just eating one clean meal, drinking a green juice or taking a couple of herbs. Even though those are great healthy choices, DETOX is a series of consistent intentional choices. A series of making certain things a priority in aiding our bodies in the cleaning and repairing process. See, the best way to fight infections, viruses and diseases, is to invest in our immunity; to invest in our detoxification process.
I want to encourage you that YOU ARE A MIRACULOUS MACHINE. You can help your body stay healthy and fit by doing some of the things I listed above.
